Read more below about what makes Spice Islands so special. While many spices come from the fruit of plants, few have as fruity or enticing an aroma as cardamom. Cardamom seeds are found in an oval-shaped pod, the fruit of the plant, and are generally between a quarter of an inch and an inch long.

They have a very strong flavor, with hints of lemon and floral. We source our Spice Islands cardamom from Guatemala and Honduras. Fun Fact: Cardamom use dates back to 4th century BC, when natives of India used it for medicinal purposes. It was also used by Romans as teeth cleaner and breath freshener.

Our Ground Cardamom is only cardamom. Spice Islands spices and herbs don't contain added sugar, fillers or other ingredients so you get the most authentic flavor every time.
