Our Story Taste The 40 Years Of Hibachi In Each Drop. In 1978, Chef Jo Yamanaka Left His Hometown Kyoto, Japan To Start A New Life In Kansas City, Missouri. He Achieved His Dream By Setting Up Gojo, A Traditional Japanese Steakhouse Restaurant That Quickly Became A Local Favorite.

And What Has Followed? Gojos Signature Sauces Became Legendary. The Original Yellow Sauce Was A Cult Classic. It Started On Our Shrimp Appetizer, But More And More Requests Came In For The Yellow Sauce To Be Drizzled Over Rice Bowls And Dinner Plates.

Customers Just Couldnt Get Enough! Then, With Heavy Hearts In The Spring Of 2020, We Closed Our Restaurant, Following The Pandemic. But, Our Local Customers Couldnt Live Without Our Legendary Sauces.
