Named after the Piedmont town of Arborio in Northern Italy, Arborio rice originated in 1946 as a Japonica cultivar from the Vialone variety. It is noted for its ability to absorb flavour and produce a creamy texture due to its high amylose (starch) content. We have been bringing quality ingredients from the Mediterranean to chefs since 1991.
We have nurtured long-term partnerships with growers and artisanal producers who share our belief that the ingredient is king. George From Piedmont, Italy For more about our products, go to www.belazu.com
